02B / GENRE FIELD GUIDES

Five loops that explain the platform.

Genre labels describe the wrapper; the repeatable loop explains why people stay. Each visual guide pairs representative experiences with the design decisions, player skills and monetization questions worth noticing.

Tower of Hell obstacle course gameplay
TOWER OF HELL
Brookhaven town roleplay scene
BROOKHAVEN RP
Obbies + roleplay

Mastery on one side. Identity on the other.

Obbies turn movement into a readable sequence of jumps, timing windows and recovery choices. Roleplay worlds create a stage—homes, vehicles, jobs and clothing—then let players supply the story.

Watch for
  • Checkpoint rhythm and difficulty signaling
  • Camera-friendly geometry and mobile controls
  • Social props that invite improvisation
Start with
  • Tower of Hell, Flood Escape 2, Speed Run 4
  • Brookhaven RP, Bloxburg, Royale High
  • Ask whether progress is skill, status or self-expression
Grow a Garden farming gameplay
GROW A GARDEN
Steal a Brainrot base-building gameplay
STEAL A BRAINROT
Simulators + tycoons

The loop is a machine you learn to accelerate.

Simulators repeat an action, convert output into upgrades and open new tiers. Tycoons externalize that progression as a visible operation: droppers, shops, parks, factories or bases that become more efficient over time.

Healthy questions
  • Is the action satisfying before the multiplier?
  • Does automation create new decisions?
  • Can a player understand purchase value before spending?
Top fields

MURDER MYSTERY 2
Horror + social deduction

Information is the real progression system.

Strong Roblox horror teaches through failure: a sound predicts danger, a room changes the route, an item answers one entity. Social deduction adds uncertainty about other players, making attention and communication as important as reflexes.

Design anatomy
  • Rules become legible without losing surprise
  • Team roles create rescue and sacrifice stories
  • Short runs make failure easy to retry

Dress to Impress fashion runway gameplay
DRESS TO IMPRESS
Action RPG + fashion

Build expression can mean combat—or a silhouette.

Action RPGs let players express identity through powers, weapons and stat builds. Fashion competition compresses the same idea into a themed prompt, a time limit and a social vote.

  • Fashion: theme reading, layering and silhouette
  • Both reward fluency with a large item vocabulary

MASTERY LOOPS
What crosses every genre

Retention comes from people, mastery or collection.

Most durable experiences combine at least two engines: friends create reasons to return, mastery creates personal goals, and collections turn updates into visible long-term progress.

Player lens
  • What changes between the first and tenth session?
  • Does spending shortcut time, add expression or alter competition?
  • Can friends meaningfully cooperate?
Creator lens
  • Design the first five minutes before the hundredth hour
  • Make loss understandable and recovery quick
  • Treat live updates as part of the core product
02C / FIELD SCHOOL

Forty-eight ways to level up.

01 / Language

Roblox scripts use Luau, derived from Lua 5.1, with optional typing. A script can respond to input or change a world, but where it runs matters. A Script can execute on the server or client according to its location and RunContext; LocalScripts run on the client, while ModuleScripts provide reusable code.

Start with a small experiment: write a message to Output, change one variable and predict the result before running it. If nothing happens, check the script type, its Explorer location and its execution context before adding more code. This is an editorial exercise, not a claim that we tested your project.

02 / State

Roblox uses a client-server runtime. The server maintains authoritative game state and synchronizes connected clients through replication. A client also has local presentation and input responsibilities. Persistent values such as inventory items can be stored between sessions using DataStoreService.

Make a three-column notebook: player input, server decision, visible feedback. Trace a proposed door interaction through those columns. Decide what must persist after leaving and what belongs only to the current session. Keep tests separate from a live game; this guide does not connect to or modify Roblox.

RESEARCH LAB

Ask what the demo actually proves.

Availability

Separate a research demonstration, an announced feature and a tool you can actually use. The archive’s 2026 rollout claims are held until primary evidence is checked.

Control

Look for repeatable output, revision tools and explicit constraints. Record what you observed rather than assuming the model behaves the same in every setting.

Evaluation

Try the research-lab exercises below. They are a framework for asking questions, not product capability claims.

AVATAR WORKSHOP

Design for a tiny tile and a moving world.

The avatar exercises focus on silhouette, color hierarchy, deformation and presentation. Use them as a drawing and testing notebook. The supplied art is visual reference; it is not a tested marketplace submission or evidence of current fees.

CREATOR ECONOMY

Robux is not a promise of income.

Developer Exchange concerns eligible Earned Robux, not every Robux balance. The official terms distinguish creator earnings from purchased Robux, gift cards and resale proceeds. Roblox reviews eligibility and can change the program or its rates. A balance alone does not guarantee a cash-out.

This candidate deliberately omits the archive’s bundle prices, commission tables, forecasts and fixed exchange-rate calculations. Follow the current official terms before making a business decision. No earnings forecast, tax advice or payment test is offered here.

FAMILY CONTROLS

Read the label. Keep the conversation open.

Roblox lists Minimal, Mild, Moderate and Restricted content maturity categories. Its current support page says Restricted experiences are available only to age-checked users aged 18 or over. This corrects the inherited archive’s 17+ statement. Access can also depend on region and account settings; a content label is not a guarantee that a particular account can enter.

Use the current linked-parent controls to review the child’s account together. Read an experience’s descriptors, discuss communication and spending, and agree on how to leave and report a concern. Check the official help pages when settings change. We have not tested a child account or certified any experience as safe.

EDITORIAL METHOD

A source trail you can inspect.

Nine experience descriptions were checked against official pages. Other catalogue titles remain research leads: their detailed descriptions and ownership claims are withheld. No popularity ranking, interview, hands-on verdict or rumor is promoted into a fact.

DEVICE NOTEBOOK

Test the interaction, not just the screen size.

Touch

Check tap targets, thumb reach, camera controls and text size on the device you intend to support.

Keyboard and controller

Try every action without a mouse. Verify focus visibility and whether a player can recover after choosing the wrong control.

Comfort

Check motion, captions and color contrast. These are evaluation prompts; no hardware compatibility list or device benchmark is claimed.

11 / GLOSSARY

Speak Roblox fluently.
